im learing how to breed roses and i dont know how to collect the seeds so can grow that species next year?

How do you collect seeds from roses?
If the flower has been pollinated it will turn in to what is called a rose hip. Wait till the hip starts to dry on the plant then harvest. Break open the waxy shell and there will be your seeds.
Reply:Never heard of that before, we always start cuttings.
Reply:You can collect the seed from the rose hip, but you will most likely not end up with the rose you began with. Your best bet is to propagate through cuttings because the rose you have now will not be the rose you will get from a seed.
