How do you plant roses?

How long does it take to plant roses? How long is it before they bloom ?

How do you plant roses?
it only takes a few minutes to plant a rose

the question does need expanding

is the rose in a pot from the store or a bare root rose

in a pot? then dig a hole 2 to 3 times wider than the pot ...if its a fiber pot

cut the top of the pot off so the soil in the pot is slightly above the fiber( plastic pot remove the whole pot)

losen soil at the bottom of the hole and place about a 1/8 to a 1/4 cup of bone meal in the hole.stir the bone meal into the loose soil.Place the potted rose in the hole and back fill making sure the base of the rose( where the wood starts and the root ends) is 1/2 inch to 1 inch above the finished level. water the rose at the base only .....not on the leaves. You can add soil acidifier or other fertilzer in moderate amounts if needed.water once a day the first week. about a quart will be plenty. after that water when the soil around the plant is dry ....mulching will help retain moistness

for a bare root rose ( no pot just the plant ) the above works except you wont have a pot and the hole doesn't have to be as wide ..but you still have to loosen the soil and support the plant while backfilling.

when planting i have found it only takes about 10 minutes or so per plant

now to answer your 2nd part of the question

no matter what type of rose you have IT WILL BLOOM WHEN ITS GOOD AND READY.!!!!!

lol

dont worry if its slow, you just planted it ..... it has to get used to the new soil.

try to find out what kind it is. there should be a card or tag on it when you buy it. it will tell you its name and type.

care for roses varry so i go to this sight when i need help.

good luck

PS: spell check wasn't working so if i made a mistake ,,,sorry lol have fun
Reply:Check the packaging. Most suppliers have how-to info on the package. Most recommend well rotted manure mixed with peat moss in the bottom of the hole.Usually they require morning sun to dry the dew off the leaves or they will rott. Roses can be very tempermental but when located properly will flower in the first year.
Reply:plant a rose stems and water it
Reply:Dig a hole in the ground and insert.
Reply:You buy a Rose plant most any where at about 4 or 5 bucks, with any luck you will have Rose blooms the first year- I have best luck with a small rose bush, blooms like hell all summer, they are tempermental, need lots of water.
Reply:with a shovel
Reply:People make gardening so-o-o-o complicated. Pretty much using a shovel and digging a hole and inserting will do. Remember it is a living thing and you will do alright.

The big thing with roses is to pick the right rose. The new red Knockout and pink Knockout are incredibly easy roses no matter where you live.

Just be sure to water often and deeply and fertilize once a month from April until September.

They are incredible!
