How to Preserve Roses For 24 hours?

For a fundraiser, our chairity group will be selling roses for Valentine's - - BUT we can only buy the roses roughly 24 hrs before we sell them out - How can we preserve them over this time without making them wilt, bend or dry out?

All Your Answers Will Be Greatly Appreciated!

How to Preserve Roses For 24 hours?
Do like florists do and store them in the refrigerator. Be careful not to freeze them! You can also put some floral preservative in the water.
Reply:1. Keep them cool and dark

2 Keep the ends of the stems in cool water

3. Before putting the into water, cut a liitle off until fresh cut, and dip momentarily into boiling water before storing.

When you are going out to sell, keep your main stock covered with dampened newspaper or similar, and sell in smaller lots.
Reply:i know putting them in either lemonade or water with asprin in keeps them fresh for longer
Reply:Ideally, for as many roses as you have, use someone's chest type deep freezer. Empty the deep freezer, leave door wide open and turn off. Clean. Turn the freezer back on one day before the roses arrive. Set for 45 degrees F. Line the bottom with gobs of paper towels to prevent any moisture condensation from the roses themselves. Keep the door closed after the roses are stored there. Afterwards, re-clean the freezer and re-set for the owner's use. Leave roses as thanks.
Reply:Cold water, cool environment, buy almost open flowers, and put an aspirin in the water. Cut stems at an angle cleanly prior to emersion in fresh water.
Reply:Store them standing in water in a cold (frost free) dark garage or similar room without heating. They will be perfectly okay.
Reply:Purchase unopened blooms. After you buy, cut the bottom stems at an angle and keep stems in water in a cool environment.
Reply:I,ve found the best way to preserve any cut flowers is to put them in fizzy lemonade,or failing this dissolvable disprin/aspirin,apparently it,s the oxygen in the bubbles that helps them last longer
Reply:Keep them in your bath/shower room and make sure that you keep the windows closed. Whenever I get roses I always keep them on my bathroom window ledge (near the shower) and they keep fresh for at least 2 weeks!!! Makes you feel glamorous having roses around when you bath or shower................
Reply:put them in water with an asprin stops them drooping
Reply:Keep in the fridge with aspirin in the water.
