Wild roses growing off hybrid tea root?

Expert rose growers: I think some of the hybrid tea roses I bought last year were grafted onto wild root stock. All of a sudden i see pretty deep purple, but wild looking, roses growing off two hybrid tea roses I bought. Is this something to worry about? I actually don't mind the look but it is weird.

You defiantly must cut off the growth below the graft, coming from the root stock. It is stronger and will take over the whole plant. Usually that part has a greater number of leaves than the hybrid.
Reply:I'm no expert....But my climbing "Blue Moon" did the same thing, and the nursery told me to cut back the stems that are coming from the very base of the plant ( those were the ones where the wild red roses were coming from) I did it for a time or 2 but they kept coming back, so I've just left them.

I now get a cool mix of Blue Moon and little red roses and the arbor is gorgeous when it's in bloom.

You can cut the wild rose stems back... but if you don't mind, I wouldn't bother.
Reply:those are from your 'root stock rose'.... might be interesting, but... eventually, the root stock rose will win the competition with the tea rose and the tea rose will die... that's the one you paid for, right?... yep... trim OFF those stems that come from the root stock or lose your rose....
Reply:If you like the roses you paid money for you must cut off those suckers as close to the main root as possible or they will take over and your main rose will die
