Anyone can tell me how to plant roses?
Go to your local nursery. You'll find various in diverse shapes, colors and containers. They'll give you the best tips for the roses that grow best in your area
Reply:I like to start with stalks. I plant them in the ground one foot apart, and watch them grow. My roses come back every season, and I love the fragrance and the colors. It takes a season or two before you're going to see lasting results, but you should get flowers each season.
Reply:Its better growing them in the house but keep an eye on them, keep them in the sun light and plenty of water.
Reply:Are you talking about starting a rose bush from a long stem rose you purchased from a store? You can't. In a sense, that rose is already dead. There are ways to take cuttings from existing plants, but you have to get them rooting right away. You can also purchase a bush ready to plant. Now, if you want to plant a rose bush then I can help you with that.

How to plant a rose bush:

-Dig a hole 24" X24"

-Remove the upper 2/3 of top soil and put aside. Discard the bottom 1/3

-Mix some peat and bone meal into the top 2/3s of soil you set aside.

-Put a layer of manure in the bottom of the hole and then a layer of the top soil

(You do not want the roots of the rose to touch the manure)

-Check the root ball to make sure it is not root bound and then loosen the roots a little making sure to remove any brown or black roots (roots should be a creamy white color)

-Place the rose in the hole making sure the top of the container soil is a little higher than ground level.

-Put the soil mixture in around the root ball about half way full and then water.

-Finish filling in the hole with soil and water again.

-Make sure you water your rose early in the morning every day for the next two weeks and only at the base because roses hate to get wet. After the two weeks are up you can cut back watering to just once a week.
