Where should I cut my roses if I want them to keep blooming?

I remember from my childhood that I should either cut just above the group of three leaves or the group of five leaves, but I can remember which one! I have just planted my first roses and want to be able to cut them for the house and have them continue blooming all summer long.

Where should I cut my roses if I want them to keep blooming?
Look here and see if it helps.

Reply:Pruning rose bushes improperly can be disasterous, follow instructions carefully for the best flowering and long life.
Reply:I had good luck - with the rule of 3 leaves. I cut at a diagonal 45 degree angle and be sure not to leave too much stem but careful not to cut too short either. I had to use Schultz flower spray to keep the japanese beetles away though. They are brutal in my area.
Reply:i cut mine one inch above a out side new shoot at an angle a way from a new shoot
